Kase L. Lawal

Kase L. Lawal was appointed to the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority by the Houston City Council in June 1999. Commissioner Lawal serves on the Community Relations Committee and the Procurement and Small Business Development Task Force.

Lawal is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CAMAC International Corporation, a multi-national corporation headquartered in Houston, Texas. CAMAC has evolved over 25 years into a global energy services firm.

CAMAC and its affiliates are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production, crude oil and natural gas trading for worldwide markets and in the transportation services industry in South Africa, and employ approximately 300 persons worldwide with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, London, Grand Cayman, Lagos and Abuja.

Lawal is Vice Chairman of the Houston Airport Development System Corporation. He is also a member of the National Urban League's Board of Directors and the Fisk University Board of Trustees. In February 1999, Lawal was appointed as a member of the United States Trade Advisory Committee on Africa (TACA) to the U.S. President and the U.S. Trade Representative on trade policy in Africa.
