PHA Stands
by Environmental Track Record
In a press conference
March 24, PHA rejected the Natural Resources Defense
Council’s findings about the port’s
pollution control efforts. Describing the Houston
port evaluation as flawed and distorted, Chairman
Jim Edmonds said the findings appeared to be heavily
influenced by input from opponents of the Bayport
Container and Cruise Terminal project. Edmonds also
said he was disappointed that NRDC conveniently
commingled the efforts and regulatory authority
of PHA and those of private facilities that collectively
make up the Port of Houston. |
