The Public Affairs Division tells the port's story and how it relates to people's daily lives. Public Affairs serves as the liaison between the Port of Houston Authority and diverse stakeholders, including the news media, elected officials, business organizations and community individuals and groups by highlighting the port's economic impact, involvement in the community and overall contribution to the quality of life in Houston and the surrounding region.

The Public Affairs Division develops and implements strategies that support the Port Authority's policies and business objectives, including global trade and commerce, local and regional economic development, environmental stewardship and community involvement.

The Communications Department produces the Port of Houston magazine and all other Port Authority publications. Communications produces business-to-business marketing collateral materials and manages the port's public awareness campaign. A listing of the publications can be found on this page.

The Community Relations Department develops strategic public outreach initiatives aimed at supporting economic, educational and social development in the port's neighbohood. Programs include school partnerships, chamber of commerce partnerships and employee volunteerism. Learn more about community relations on this page.
