TCEQ’s TERP Program Announces 30-Day Notice for the new Rebate Grants Program

In accordance with Section 386.117, Texas Health and Safety Code, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is providing a 30-day notice to potential applicants of changes made to the 2013 Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) Rebate Grants Program.

A draft copy of the Notice of Rebate Grants (NRG) can be viewed online at www.terpgrants.org. The NRG contains new program requirements and changes.

Rebate application forms and the final NRG will not be made available until at least 30 days after the date of this notice. Application forms will not be accepted until the official opening date of the application period. PLEASE DO NOT USE any previous versions of the application form. Applications received using those forms will not be accepted.

New Finance Special Effective September 26, 2012 for Drayage Loan Program
The Port Authority partners with the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Environmental Defense Fund in the Port Drayage Truck Bridge Loan Program. The program provides low-interest loans and grant funding towards the purchase of new (2009 engine or newer) trucks. The Port Authority’s commitment of $50,000 was instrumental in securing the SmartWay Program grant, and was allocated for a Guaranteed Loan Program for applicants with soft credit profiles.

Low 2% APR financing is now available for 60 months to qualified buyers, subject to approval. Special financing is on new trucks for a limited time only.

EPA Clean Diesel News: September 13, 2012

EPA is announcing a new National Clean Diesel Campaign Rebate Program for clean diesel. As part of the reauthorization of the Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA), EPA will offer rebates to fund projects that reduce emissions from diesel engines. The program is designed to target specific medium and heavy-duty diesel engines; and technologies each year (as funding is available). This is the first ever rebate program in EPA. As such, the National Clean Diesel Campaign is starting with a pilot program that will focus on school bus replacements.

EPA anticipates the acceptance of applications to start in November. EPA will send another email when the rebate application acceptance period opens.

Get Money to Upgrade or Replace Your Truck or Equipment and Clean the Air
TERP ERIG Program Accepting Grant Applications

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) Program is now accepting applications for the Emissions Reduction Incentive Grants (ERIG) Program. Grant funds are available to upgrade or replace older heavy-duty vehicles (including school buses), non-road equipment, locomotives, marine vessels, and stationary
equipment.

ERIG applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2012.

New grant application forms are now available on our Web site: http://www.terpgrants.org. Any previous versions of the application forms will not be accepted. Eligible counties for this grant cycle include: Bastrop, Bexar, Brazoria, Caldwell, Chambers, Collin, Comal, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fort Bend, Galveston, Gregg, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Harrison, Hays, Hood, Jefferson, Johnson, Kaufman, Liberty, Montgomery, Nueces, Orange, Parker, Rockwall, Rusk, San Patricio, Smith, Tarrant, Travis, Upshur, Victoria, Waller, Williamson, Wilson, and Wise.

Upcoming ERIG Workshops:
Several Grant Application Workshops, Dealer Trainings, and Application Assistance Sessions have been scheduled to provide an overview of the ERIG application process. The ERIG program has several new changes this year. Please plan to attend a workshop to learn more about new program requirements and new grant application forms.
