Prominent attorney, civic leader has served 10 years as City of Houston appointee

Janiece M. Longoria was appointed Chairman of the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority today by a joint session of the Harris County Commissioners Court and the Houston City Council. She is an honors graduate of the University of Texas and received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1979. She is a partner with the firm of Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall, LLP.

Longoria has received many recognitions for distinguished service, including the 2008 Sandra Day O'Connor Board Excellence Award.

Longoria will also serve as the Chairman of the Board of Pilot Commissioners for Harris County Ports.
