Administrative Assistant II
This
position reports to the Government Relations Director.
Requirements:
•
Must have a high school diploma. A minimum of two (2) years of college education preferred.
•
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of administrative office experience.
•
Must be flexible to work a non-standard schedule (evenings and weekends) in order to attend small business and maritime related events.
•
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as appropriate interpersonal skills.

Construction Inspector
This
position reports to the Chief Construction Inspector.
Requirements:
•
High school diploma or equivalent; ten (10) years experience in heavy and/or marine construction inspection; vocational training in reading blueprints or comparable experience.
•
Works independently; responsible for contractor’s strict adherence of materials and procedure in plans and specifications.
•
Must be able to stand and observe details attentively while being frequently interrupted; work to meet deadlines. Capable of excellent mobility around construction sites and able to climb ladders and stairs, capable of working at heights up to 200 feet above grade, and move through crawlways in structures and equipment. Must be able to operate motor vehicle without special equipment.
•
Capable of performing written calculations and producing project documentation. Must be able to read and write English.
•
Color vision required. Must be capable of communicating with engineers, CADD operators, consultants, contractors and members of the public. Must be able to use a normal telephone.

Electrician - BCT
This
position reports to the Assistant Foreman.
Requirements:
•
A high school diploma or GED certificate. Must have completed an apprentice training program or have five (5) years of documented electrician experience in the area of electrical work to be performed.
•
Must be able to work different shifts.
•
Good knowledge of relevant electrical codes such as the National Electrical Code or the National Safety Code.
•
Good knowledge of electricity, electrical systems and equipment. Good knowledge of basic electronic troubleshooting and repairs.
•
Good working knowledge of the functioning of digital DC and AC drives including Avtron, GE DC300, Siemens and DynA systems presently used on PHA cranes and should be skilled in reading and interpreting programmable logic controllers, specifically GE Rx3i, Siemens S-5 and S-7 and Allen-Bradley 500 Series.
•
Good knowledge of the installation process of electrical controls and circuits for a variety of electrical equipment such as lighting systems, motors and control cabinets.
•
Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings and design specifications. Training in electronic repairs and troubleshooting highly desirable.
•
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
•
Must be able to obtain a State of Texas Electrician License.
Managing Director
(Engineering & Construction)
This
position reports to the Sr Vice President, Engineering & Real Estate.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Advanced degrees in Engineering and Business are helpful.
•
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
•
Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in designing and constructing civil engineering projects (i.e. bridges, highways, marine docks, etc.).
•
Must be capable of making presentations to large groups.
•
Must have ten (5) years of experience managing and supervising a department of 40 plus employees.
•
Must be capable of networking in the engineering societies of the area.
•
Must have the ability to work under moderate to high pressure and with frequent interruptions.
•
Must have the ability to coordinate numerous projects concurrently while paying close attention to detail.
•
Must be capable of reasonable mobility around construction sites and able to climb ladders and stairs, and move through crawlways in existing structures and equipment.

Paralegal II
This
position reports to the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel or Counsel.
Requirements:
•
Must have a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•
Five (5) years of paralegal experience and certificate or seven (7) years of paralegal experience to include five to seven years combined experience in a law department, law firm or business environment, preferred.
•
Must have excellent writing skills and knowledge of all aspects of typical corporate secretarial paralegal duties.
•
Must have basic knowledge of typical office procedures.
•
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
•
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Project Manager - PHA Channel Development
This
position reports to the Channel Development Director.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering and ten (10) years experience in project design or project management.
•
Must have experience with the design and construction of port facilities, waterways, dredged material disposal areas or major earthwork projects that entail soil drainage issues, and hydrographic and topographic surveys.
•
Must have a valid Texas Driver License and proof of insurance.
•
Experience with federal permitting and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers processes is preferred.
•
Experience with the dredging industry, dredging projects, or levee design is desirable.
•
Registered Professional Engineer is desired.
•
Must be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management related programs.
•
Should be a self-starter, possessing both imagination and analytical skills with a basic understanding of project economics and the importance of ports in fostering business and economic activity in the community.
•

Records Manager
This
position reports to the Assistant General Counsel/Records Management Officer.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Library Science. A Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences a plus.
•
Electronic Records Management Master (ERMM), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Certified Document and Imaging Architect (CDIA), preferred.
•
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in records management.
•
Supervisory experience a plus.
•
Must have experience in selecting, designing and implementing electronic records management systems.
•
Must have the ability to organize and lead multiple, simultaneous efforts.
•
Must have the familiarity with using records management systems, databases and applications including SharePoint and RIM tools such as Open Text, Documentum and FileNet.
•
Must have the ability to interact with management from various business units.
•
Must have the experience in project management skills, methods and techniques (planning, scheduling, project control procedures, vendor management, risk management, budgeting, etc.).

Sr Compliance Coordinator
This
position reports to the Assistant Manager-Water and Permits Program.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Science, Environmental Sciences or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years experience in the Environmental Compliance field.
•
Permitting and environmental management experience preferred.
•
Must have a valid Texas Driver License and proof of insurance.
•
Must have experience in the Microsoft Office Suite.
•
Must have or be able to satisfactorily complete within six (6) months of hire, training in the following areas: 40 hour HAZWOPER, 8 hour HAZWOPER for Supv/Mgrs. Additionally, will be required to pass a physical exam and sustain proper medical surveillance as set forth in 29 CFR 1910.120.

Treasury Manager
This
position reports to the Senior Director, Finance.
Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree. MBA in Finance or Accounting, a plus.

Must have at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in treasury, accounting, financial planning and analysis, or corporate financial management.
•
Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, ERP systems and other relevant computer software applications.
•
Must be detailed oriented.

position reports to the Director, BCT/Bayport Operations.
Requirements:

College degree in Business or Marine Resources Management, preferred or a minimum of five (5) years work experience in marine terminal operations.

Knowledge of stevedoring and/or terminal operations with emphasis on ILA management.
•
Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
•
Must have good communication skills and positive attitude.
