Bayport Channel

  • The channel is 3.5 nautical miles in length
  • The channel is 300’ wide and has a federally authorized depth of 40’
  • Port of Houston Authority berths are 225' wide and dredged to match the channel
  • The turning basin is 1600’ in diameter which allows vessel length up of 1333’

PHA Wharf/ Dockside

  • Current container terminal consists of 3300’ of dock with 4 docks
  • The design draft is 40’ at all container docks
  • Dock T2: 300’ 
  • Docks T3 through T5: 1000’ 

Bayport Cruise Terminal

  • Cruise/Lay berth dock: 1000’ with a design draft of 31’

Customs Warehouse/USDA Inspection Ramp

  • 3600 sq foot 4 door Customs Inspection Warehouse
  • 50 slot USDA Inspection Ramp

Bayport Container Terminal consists of 193 acres of developed land

- Grounded Empty Yards:

  • Houston Terminals (HT) empty yard: 12 acres (Servicing MSC and Zim)
  • Terminal Link Texas (TLT) empty yard: 13.56 acres (Servicing CMA-CGM, China, and CSAV)

- Wheeled Slots:

  • 544 Refrigerated container slots (440v)
  • 610 container slots

Marine Fire Department

  • 24/7 Fire Department Incident response

Inbound and Outbound gates consist of 4 stages that are equipped with LA KING Control system

  • Stage 1:  10 lanes for the Entry gate with 1 lane that will accommodate oversized loads
  • Stage 2:  8 lanes that are equipped with scales (non-DOT certified), manned survey, and 1 lane that will accommodate oversized loads
  • Stage 3:  6 lanes that are equipped with OCR (Optical Character Recognition software) for outbound survey and 1 lane that will accommodate oversized loads
  • Stage 4:  6 lanes for final transaction processing with 1 lane that will accommodate oversized loads
